Ms. Ann’s Welcome Letter

Dear Parents,

Welcome to The American School’s Pre-Nursery class! I am so glad to have your precious little ones this year. I am Ann Capitulo or Ms. Ann from the Philippines. This is my 11th year teaching preschool and my second school year teaching the youngest members of the TAS family.

I am thrilled to have your child in my class to discover, explore, learn and play with. We will have tons of activities that will help your child develop physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. Teaching your child is a tremendous responsibility and I will do my best to ensure that each student has a safe and motivating learning experience this school year.

You are your child’s first guardian. Please prepare him/her every day to be in the best frame of mind by making sure a full night’s rest and a healthy breakfast is provided.

Your child should be in school at 8:00AM sharp and should be picked up at 2:45PM. Let’s help your child settle in by coming on time.

Should you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.

My email is: ann.capitulo@tas.edu.vn

For the first couple of weeks at school we will be working on establishing class and school rules and routines. The medium of instruction in the classroom is English. The teaching assistants are here to help translate for the kids to have a better understanding of classroom activities, lessons and routines.

Please send your child to school wearing proper uniform and comfortable footwear. We will also be having a 90-minute nap time each day. The school will provide a sleeping mat, but we ask that you send your child to school with a labelled pillow, blanket and any other napping material they may need.

We are always moving around and getting messy and sweaty indoors and outdoors, so please make sure that your child always have the following in their bags. Please label their personal belongings too.

What to bring to school:

  1. Complete set of clothes (shirt or dress, shorts or pants, underwear)
  2. Diaper (for those who are not potty-trained yet or those who needs one during nap time)
  3. Towel
  4. Wet wipes
  5. Swim wear on Fridays

Let’s work together to make this school year a memorable and enriching experience for your child.

Sincerely,

Ms. Ann (Pre-Nursery)
