Week 7

This week grades 3, 4, and 5 are decorating their rhythm posters and practicing performing the rhymes they wrote as we continue to explore rhythm and reading eighth notes, sixteenth notes and quarter notes.

3A and 5A are rehearsing the song Stand! by Sly and the Family Stone for a performance at the upcoming assembly to go with our theme of integrity.

Grades 1 and 2 are beginning a new unit where we learn about meaning in musical compositions. This week we are playing games and rhythmic activities to demonstrate the meaning in classic compositions such as the Surprise Symphony by Haydn, Ballet of the Unhatched Chicks by Mussorgsky, and Flight of the Bumble Bee by Korsakov.
