Week 6

Students in grade 3 through 5 are currently writing rhythmic compositions using standard music notation and rhyming words. Students are matching the word syllables to rhythmic music notes in a given meter. We are continuing to learn about the elements of music and beginning to introduce reading rhythms.

Students in grades 1 and 2 are learning to play songs on the bells using proper mallet technique and focusing on rhythmic accuracy. In grades 1 and 2 we are combining instruments and singing by playing simple melodies on the bells and singing. We are also continuing to work on singing accuracy with song and circle games.
