It’s the end of the 1st Quarter! How time flies!
This week, we started singing and dancing Halloween songs, doing Halloween art projects and thinking about our Halloween costume for the Halloween Festival this October 31st.
In Music, we continued to do Steady Beat activities using rhythm sticks and by clapping our hands. Also, we sang Halloween songs such as Knock, Knock Trick or Treat, Five Little Pumpkins and Who Took the Candy?.
In Art, we started creating Halloween arts and crafts. We learned how to draw Jack-O-Lanterns with different facial expressions.
Also, we beautified our BEAN BAG TOSS BOARD. The Pre-K students helped a lot in making these boards look more amazing!
This week in P.E., we danced Halloween Stomp and Halloween Rules as our warm up activities. Also, we continued to Throw and Catch ball.
This week, we reviewed the sounds we learned the week before. We discussed the most common machine sounds.
This week in Art, we celebrated the INTERNATIONAL DOT DAY. We filled the whole week with The Dot arts and crafts. We also learned the story The Dot by Peter Reynolds.
This week, we learned non-locomotor movements. Then, we combined our locomotor and non-locomotor movements to have rhythmic dance.
This week, we learned about SOUNDS. We did activities to appreciate sounds. We heard HUMAN, ANIMALS, MACHINES and NATURE sounds.
In art, we did BLUE activities. Also, we did sorting activities of the colors we know as a review.
We also did follow up activities on how to paint and learned about the PRIMARY COLORS.
In P.E., we did tag games namely ZOMBIE TAG and FROGGY TAG. Also, we did treasure hunt game as a follow up activity of our topic, the LOCOMOTOR MOVEMENTS.
Our week has been FUN-tastic!
In Music, we continued to learn melodies and chants. We also learned new hand and finger plays.
In Art, we made YELLOW-themed crafts.
We also continued to practice our cutting and pasting skills. We learned how to use and take care of our paint brushes. We also practiced basic brush strokes.
In P.E., we continued to do activities to master our locomotor movements. Games such as tag games, freeze dance and dvd games were enjoyed by the students!
Week 2 is focused on knowing everyone’s names and getting used to the classroom atmosphere.
This week, we started to learn colors in preparation for the color wheel lesson. We will have a color of the week.
Also, we learned how to properly care for art materials. We sharpened dull pencils and reviewed how to cut and paste using scissors and glue. Also, table captains are selected every lesson.
In Music, we continued to work on our Nursery rhymes with the help of big books. Everyone’s prepared to sing their hearts out.
This week, we learned locomotor movements. Students are excited to do activities they can do with their feet! We also did the Hunting Game. We learned how to walk properly, run, hop, jump, leap, glide and gallop.
First day of school started with delight!
Names, classroom rules and routines were learned during the first week.
Students were so energetic and very eager to learn.
We sang our names, learned few routine songs and name songs. We reviewed action songs and nursery rhymes we already know.
We made our first ever artwork in Art class.
We drew and hand printed some artworks.
Our artworks will be displayed in our Art Gallery.
Table captains are ready and responsible.
We will always start our P.E. class with warm up and rhythmic activities. We also learned our Gym Rules and warm up dance.
We are looking forward to a great year!
