Nursery/Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten: Ice Cream Cones

As the temperatures shoot up, we start searching for ways to stay cool.  We will be refining our shapes in making an ice cream cone truly worth drooling over.

 

First/Second/Third Grade: Earth Day Picture

We will be focusing on our planet and it’s fragile condition.  We will explore some ways that we can help conserve resources and make the world more livable for all creatures.  We will be making a coffee filter Earth with watercolors.

 

Fourth/Fifth Grade:  Ipad drawings tools

This week we will be embarking on a technology highway using digital tools for the first time this year.  Students will be introduced to some drawing applications and given a chance to explore their creativity.

Nursery/Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten: Curious Cat

We will be making a cat today using shapes.  Students will then cut and paste their cats.

 

First/Second/Third Grade:  Smile Contest

West Coast Dental is having their annual contest with the theme of superheroes.  Students will design their character and create their own posters.

 

Fourth/Fifth Grade:  Smile Contest

WEEK: 28 DATE: April 3, 2016

Nursery/Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten: Busy Busy Bees

Springtime is here again and with it comes a deluge of insects and blooming flowers.  We will be exploring the fragile world of bees and the importance they play in our food chain.  Students will then be doing a follow drawing and

First/Second/Third Grade:  Night-Time Eraser Drawings

This week we will explore the subtractive art of eraser drawings.  Students will be imaging it is night time and they will be shining the light of their eraser flashlights on an object.   They will also see a live demonstration.

 

Fourth/Fifth Grade:  Tessellating Cranes

We will be exploring the segue-way between Art and Geometry with this weeks assignment.  Students will be making a tessellated composition after creating a template of a crane.  Once their picture is drawn, they will be making a painting with an analogous color scheme.
