This week we will be making a landscape based on various classic video games. Students will take note of the difference between reality and digital renderings.

We will be learning about geometric art using a compass. Students will see how patterns arise from repetition and color theory relating to geometric designs.

We will be doing the perennial favorite Hand Turkeys. Students will trace their hands and then decorate their turkeys.

Students will reflect upon what they are really grateful for this holiday season. Students will make a list of things they are more thankful for and then draw them.

Tin Foil Elephants

WEEK: 14 DATE: November 15, 2015

Nursery/Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten: Painted Flowers

We are going to learn about the natural world with making flowers. Students will be walked through making a painting of flowers and learn about the importance of layering.

First/Second Grade: Tangram

Students will be exploring the Chinese form of puzzle making called Tangrams. Students will be working with shapes to create a new composition.

 

Third/Fourth Grade: Tin Foil Elephants

In conjunction with International Week, students will be creating an elephant picture using tin foil. Students will create their elephant and draw it on a piece of foil. Students will also learn about the decorative arts with creating their borders.
