WEEK: 20 DATE: January 26, 2015

Nursery/Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten: Japanese Fish Kites

This week we will be exploring Japanese fish kites. We will use toilet paper rolls as the frame and glue tissue paper around it.

 

First/Second Grade: ESLR Tiles

The elementary school will be working on a community art piece. Each child will receive a tile that will fit together on the wall of the cafeteria.   The theme of the tiles will be of the ESLRs (Athletics, Aesthetics, Altruism, and Academics). We will be working on rough sketches this week and will begin the tiles next week.

 

Third/Fourth Grade: ESLR Tiles

WEEK: 18 DATE: January 12, 2015

Nursery/Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten: Cotton Ball Sheep

Happy New Year!  We will be celebrating the year of the Ram by making a mixed media painting using cotton balls and paint.

 

First/Second Grade: Paper Lanterns

Students will be making lanterns to welcome in the New Year.  They will have a choice of color and the shape of their lanterns and will learn how to make the ridges.

 

Third/Fourth Grade: Year of the Goat Cut-Outs

This week we will be looking at different depictions of goats throughout Asia.   Students will be cutting out their goat designs from red paper and pasting them onto white paper.

 

Fifth Grade: Biome Illustrations

In conjunction with Ms. Sara’s Science class, students will be researching and creating their own biomes.  Students will include local flora and fauna in their drawings.
