WEEK: 32 DATE: April 28, 2014

 

Nursery/Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten: Bumble Bee Swarm

We will be exploring the world of bees and creating a painting of bees pollinating flowers.

First/Second Grade:  Target hands

Students will be using a template of a target and students will be tracing their hands.  They will have to use cool colors for the area outside the hands and warm for the hands.

 

Third/Fourth Grade: Rainbow Sky

This week we will be creating a painting that uses the colors of the rainbow.  Students will learn the proper order of the rainbow and create a landscape.

 

Fifth Grade: Hexagon Art

We will explore the connection between art and mathematics this week.  Students will create a hexagon and shade in the different regions using colors.

 

 

 

 

 

WEEK 31 DATE: April 21, 2014

 

Nursery/Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten:  Birds on a Wire

We will be studying urban landscapes this week.  Students will learn about how to make a drawing of birds on a telephone wire using scissors, paper, and glue.

 

First/Second Grade: Curious Cats

This week we will be exploring the world of cats.  We will construct a cat out of cardboard and color it using paint.

 

Third/Fourth Grade: Zebra on Black Paper

We will be looking at the world of animals using just tones.  Students will be painting a zebra using white paint on black paper.

 

Fifth Grade: Pop Art Portraits Students will be exploring the Pop Art work of Andy Warhol this week.   We will be making portraits like the silkscreens of famous celebrities.WEEK 31

WEEK: 30 DATE: April 15, 2014

Nursery/Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten: This week we will be making paper roll owls.  We will also be making some birds on a wire. 

 

First/Second Grade: Students will be designing their own robots.  We will be using shapes to make an original creation.

 

Third/Fourth Grade: We will be studying the book arts with a marbling assignment.  Students will create their own marbled paper using shaving cream. 

 

Fifth Grade: Students will be exploring the Pop Art work of Andy Warhol this week.   We will be making portraits like the silkscreens of famous celebrities.
